Hey, my name is Aleshia Thornton. I am a senior here at the University of Southern Mississippi majoring in Biological Sciences. For those who are unfamiliar with what my major entails, I am simply studying to become a Physical Therapist. Although my anticipated graduation date is in May, I am still actively seeking an internship and or job within my major. During this semester, I hope to explore the various styles of writing that can and will be essential within my career in the future. Aside from passing the course, I hope to obtain as much knowledge as possible in regards to writing. In order to be the best at what I do, or what I plan to do, more so, I must abide by the small technical aspects, such as this course, in order to do so.
Biological Sciences major's endure lengthy writing assignments such as lab reports and experiment assignments. Lab reports provide individuals with numerical break-downs and tons of information used only as a page filler. There is a particular guideline you must follow when writing lab reports. However, the guideline requires much precision just as the overall lab report itself. Lab reports in my opinion are simply difficult and I do not enjoy writing them. The experiment assignments are most favorable in my opinion. This document in particular involves writing and or recording data of an experiment that has taken place. It does not require numerical break-downs unlike lab reports, and only requires a minimal amount of time to complete.
Aleshia,
ReplyDeleteI recently changed my major to Biology as well. I have taken several science classes during my time at USM and I understand the pains of writing lab reports. This class will help us even more learn how to perfect our writing abilities in order to be better at our intended careers. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors to becoming a physical therapist!
